In our 12-Week Program, YOU will actually make a feature length movie, not just a short.
In the 12-Week Program students will learn the basics in Writing, Producing, Directing, Production Design, Cinematography, Sound Design and Editing.
The 12-Week Feature Length Movie Program is designed to teach our students the basics in pre-production, production and post-production.
In the 12-Week Program students are taught the basics of digital film making from script to screen.
If you make it through the first four weeks you will make a feature length movie under the direct supervision of seasoned Hollywood Professionals.
The 12-Week Program is divided into three phases.
1. Weeks 1-4 are Instruction/Pre-production.
2. Weeks 5-8 are Production/Post-Production.
3. Weeks 9-12 are Post-Production.
To ensure personal attention from instructors, we only accept 10 students per class.
Description of Classes:
Editing with Final Cut Pro
Introduction to Editing, designed to provide students with basic skills for 24/30fps projects using Final Cut Pro.
Cinematography
Introduction to Cinematography covering an overview of composition, light and color, lighting continuity, gripping and gaffing.
Directing
Introduction to directing covering an overview of the functions of the director and the 1st assistant director.
Editing
Introduction to the basic principles of editing and the editor«s role as storyteller.
Hands On
This isn't a class, it's an exercise! Our hands-on exercises are where the instructor, (producing, directing or cinematography instructor) actually works with students on various
projects like casting, working with actors, location scouting and shooting a scene.
Producing
This course is designed to provide students with basic information on the functions of the producer, covering the technical and creative aspects of producing as well as line producing,
with an overview of the positions and functions of the producing staff.
Production Design
Introduction to production design and how it complements the overall mood and feel of the motion picture, including the interaction between the art department and other departments
to realize the overall atmosphere of the film.
Story
This class is designed to give the students the basic idea of story structure, Analysis, plot and characters, the essentials of the screenplay.
Sound Design 1
Introduction to sound design covering both the mechanics of sound gathering in the studio and on location as well as discussions on the art of "foley", the importance of music
in character and plot advancement and how sound affects the overall mood and feel of the motion picture.
